+ | Guessing in Naralik... there are people who sit at hazmat storage there and will hit spiders with MD from across the fence, which avoids an attack when doing it as well. While I can't say it's always 30 as I never bothered with MD, this could be an explanation to some spiders there having less mana left. | ||

In 2 encounters from many of course, i drained 10 mana from a large spider, I casted MD again and the result was 0 mana, so maybe mana of large spider is not always 30 (above posted by Hanibaal - include your name at end of your message)
Guessing in Naralik... there are people who sit at hazmat storage there and will hit spiders with MD from across the fence, which avoids an attack when doing it as well. While I can't say it's always 30 as I never bothered with MD, this could be an explanation to some spiders there having less mana left.

It's the same for all animals with Mana: You can drain them for up to 30 Mana (if your magic level and rationality are high enough). But if you drain them once for less than 30, the left mana pool goes down to 0. I've experienced this behaviour with grizzly bears. --Gampa
