EL Bio and History

Kailomonkey is a descendant of a powerful elf tribe lost to history. It is said that they tired of the toil of Draia and its inhabitants and so used their great magic to create a paradise separated from the mortal realms and sealed it permanently and that Kailo chose to stay on Draia to continue healing and caring for others.

Reality

Kailo apparently started playing Eternal Lands in April 2006. Like many before him, he started out selling Lilacs to Lavinia, the owner of the flower shop in Valley of the Dwarves, before moving onto producing Fire Essence to sell to players. He also remembers finding the x2 Blue Lupine in Portland and even before that, a member of ALCH sitting on the map harvesting flowers. This is where his love for peaceful flower sitting, Alchemy, knowledge and secrets perhaps began.

Roleplay, friends, exploring and finding secrets was a passion he spent a lot of his time on, along with forming how his morals and spiritual perspectives would relate to this world. He found his first death bag as a poor newbie in Naralik which contained a Wooden Staff/Quarterstaff. He picked up the staff and kept it, but that was the first and last time he would ever do so as despite being 'a game' this was someone's belongings, and he considered this: what you do in front of others is not who you are, it's what you do when no-one is looking that defines you... This was a thought he had when walking the dog one day back in reality, but it mattered just as much here. And in the future he remembers returning a couple CoL's to the sight of such surprise in the receiver.

As an explorer Tarsengaard Magic School was his first great mastery including the Garden/Beach and the Portal Room, and he mapped it thoroughly on a blank bitmap in MS Paint. Not for the first time. White Stone City Sewers probably take that position and another early favourite find of his. But exploring and mapping got real with his first trip to c2 where he went on to map the inner and outer of the cities of the ice cold Trassian and Iscalrith and his favourite places of the Tree of Eternity, Portal Room and Dra Syn Great Library, great places to read Books on mining and train magic with shield spell.

But of course the love of Sigils, Essence and Spells came before this including with the discovery of Unolas Temple in Vermor Castle and the need (before figuring out the riddles) to Teleport to Range. He would go on to be known for his dedication to Remote Heal but before that his first guild was when he joined Elite Dragon Knights lead by sbarstow. It was while in EDK that his desire to create his own guild for healers and helpers arose, and when EDK changed hands, he took MacNathan along with him to form Star Guild!

Superreal

The rules of Star really reflected his own morals of returning all bags, living peacefully without PK or conflict, helping the lost and healing the hurt. For him, that meant healing equally the high max health and the low max health, the pro and the newbie, the kind and the attacker, to put only positivity and kindness into even the most hated's lives. It was in these early days of Star that he met someone who very much embodied all those things he aimed for and would go on to share his efforts to spam EL with healing! But Devani of GWaR never joined Star, instead forming Star's closest union and Kailo's closest friendships, and eventually where Kailo would end up in a distant future.

The rest of his historical EL life is somewhat an emotional blur from here of life mostly on c2. With new maps came new secrets to explore and useful spots to utilise, and new friends with similar interests. Mixing to hyperbags became common and Devani became his PvP a/d partner and Mana Drain partner, as well as partner in everything else they did. Previous to this he really only trained a/d to killing Armed Skeletons but soon went up to Polar Bears and a little beyond. She helped him catch up to her Magic Level too and they both entered the Top 200 then Top 100 at their height.

Meanwhile in Star, Enly and Moonskimmer came aboard and completed the vision with their fun and humour. Mac would run projects to benefit our younger members and keeping them rich with hydro money. And we would have fun in IG with many a fun loving ally!

But the height would not last forever and maybe 2 years after meeting her in Zirakinbar, the person behind the character Devani died in RL leaving a hard void to fill in Kailo's EL life and beyond. His guild and EL friends were very supportive but he nonetheless looked to work on his outside of EL life after this, while also struggling to keep up with his own supplies in the same ways without his partner in crime. His playing turned to sporadic visits after 2008 and without him Star dwindled until just Mac was left. That and the two other core members were going through major life changes also. Mac transferred to our brother-guild GWaR and the absent Kailo did too eventually, closing the beloved Star.

Return

Having his memory wiped from such long absence, Kailo finally ventured to return in March 2021 by focusing on zero pressure playing and has become a daily player yet again. He continues to dedicatedly Remote Heal every wound he sees, works hard and plays hard, and now does most the dailies as a matter of habit. He also did a couple 80-100 invances which he surprisingly survived, although he can barely hit a fluffy or a chim still, resorting to a couple of his hefty harm spells. He is much more dedicated to remaining on Seridia for most things now, and has a new love for Naralik where he used to get his Emeralds for Magic Essence as a newbie, but now has a (Hazmat) Storage of its own!
